Doubt takes the subjunctive: dudo que ese sérum funcione, never dudo que funciona. And watch the false friend — actualmente means currently; for "actually" say en realidad or la verdad.

Routine talk runs in sequence — empieza con, después, termino con — so you can walk a friend through five steps without losing the thread.
02 · Naming your skin type
Tengo piel mixta y se me brilla la zona T.
I have combination skin and my T-zone gets shiny.
Se me brilla is the reflexive that makes it something that happens to you, not something you do — the natural way Spanish talks about skin.
03 · The night routine, precisely
De noche uso retinol tres veces por semana.
At night I use retinol three times a week.
Frequency markers like tres veces por semana turn a vague routine into one a friend can actually copy.
04 · The honest comparison
Los dos cumplen, pero el de farmacia sale la mitad.
Both do the job, but the drugstore one costs half.
Cumplir — to do the job, to deliver — is the honest-review verb. It concedes a point without pretending both products are equal.
05 · Pros and cons, back to back
Lo bueno es que no deja sensación grasosa. Lo malo es que el envase es un desastre y se derrama.
The good thing is it doesn't leave a greasy feel. The bad part is the packaging is a disaster and it leaks.
Lo bueno / lo malo is the frame for a balanced verdict — not a hard yes or no, which is exactly what a friend asking for advice wants.
06 · The recommendation hedge
Si tu piel es sensible, yo iría por algo sin fragancia.
If your skin is sensitive, I'd go for something fragrance-free.
Si + present, yo iría por softens a recommendation into a suggestion, not an order — this is how advice actually sounds between friends.
07 · Slow her down before she buys
Te convendría probar primero una muestra antes de comprarlo.
It would be better for you to try a sample first before buying it.
Te convendría hedges hard — advice dressed as a mild suggestion, useful when you want to slow a friend down without sounding like you're lecturing her.
08 · Naming the trend
Últimamente todo el mundo habla del glass skin.
Lately everyone is talking about glass skin.
Últimamente is the natural way to introduce a trend — softer than saying it's suddenly everywhere, closer to how people actually bring it up.
09 · Calling out the marketing
Eso es puro marketing, el ingrediente activo está en mínima cantidad.
That's pure marketing, the active ingredient is barely in there.
Calling out hype without sounding harsh: state the fact right after the verdict, so it reads as informed, not dismissive.
10 · The skeptic's tell
Me da mucha desconfianza que no muestren estudios reales.
I don't trust that they don't show any real studies.
Me da desconfianza que + subjunctive is the register for professional-sounding skepticism — softer than saying it's a lie, still clearly a no.
11 · The gentle no
No es que sea malo, es que no es para tu tipo de piel.
It's not that it's bad, it's that it's not right for your skin type.
No es que + subjunctive, es que + indicative lets you say no without saying it's bad — the hedge B2 speakers reach for and beginners never learn.

No — actualmente means currently. For "actually", say en realidad or la verdad, as in la verdad, pagué un dineral y no noté absolutamente nada — honestly, I paid a fortune and noticed nothing.
